If you are a lover of sunbathing or swimming in the crystal waters of Greece then Golden beach is an ideal beach for you.

It is is located at the north east of the island between the resorts of Skala Panagias -known locally as Avlakia- and Scala Potamias and it is only a few minutes away from Thassos town. Even though it is mostly known as Golden Beach you might come across signs or maps that refer to it as Chrissi Amoudia (=Golden Sand).

It stretches over 2 kilometres and one of the most beautiful and popular of the island.

Along it's shoreline there are traditional greek tavernas where you can taste their gastronomic creations filled with flavours from Greece.

Great place to chill out after a few hours of swim. And don't forget to try the greek tsipouro(alcoholic drink like ouzo).

Also it is ideal for children and not very strong swimmers because the waters are pretty shallow. So you can go there with your family and have a guaranted great time!

Like other beaches in Thassos it was awarded with a European "Blue Flag" in 2004 as one of the best beaches in Europe.

You see Thasssos is one of the unique greek islands that combines see and mountain along with rich greenery. Golden Beach is one of the well organised with sunbeds and umbrellas waiting for you there.

Plus at times if you fill a bit hungry someone selling corn or fresh doughnuts comes round ready to satisfy your need.
