Makryammos(or Makriammos) meaning long sand is a beach vacation resort located in the capital of Thassos Greek island called Limenas or as many people know it Thassos town and it is one of the most popular beaches on the island.

Makriammos beach resort extends over kilometres and it is surrounded by a forest and rich greenery. It is a truly fantastic place with bungalows in the midst of trees where you can even see deer and peacocks taking a "stroll" along with the holiday makers.

It is a very picturesque sandy beach with crystal clear waters and Makryammos is also one of the Thassos beaches that was awarded with a Euopean "Blue Flag" in 2004.

Makriammos beach is the only one in Thassos that has a trampoline and a floating rock where swimmers can go and jump off it. Children love it.

There is also a net for beach-volley where many locals play and it is an opportunity to meet holiday makers. Nearby there is also a basket and tennis court for people who like to practice their sports abilities. For younger children there is also a playground.

In order to have access to this wonderful sandy beach you have to go through the property of Makryammos vacation resort which costs around 1.5Euro per person, unless of course you are staying there. And it is better to bring your own umbrella for the sun since the price might not seem very cheap to hire one.
